The idea
5000 pubs have closed since the smoking ban. More people are smoking, and chronic diseases are on the rise despite the ban. Pubs and Clubs desperately need changes to survive. Modern ventilation/filtration is the answer, removing 99.97% of all air-borne particulates.
There simply isn't any reason not to allow choice. Smoking display bans will also close hundreds of small shops, as this study shows:

Why is it important?
It will increase revenue for the Exchequer, it will save jobs, pubs and clubs. It will improve the social lives of many disenfrachised people.
There simply is no scientific reason not to do this.
