The idea
At present, county courts ask Registry Trust to collate their judgements and it costs £8 to find out if a potential trading partner has judgements against. If the search is on a company that has changed its name, the cost is £16 for two searches or for the company below, £40.

Why is it important?
The county court judgement list is important in discovering whether someone is creditworthy.
Finance companies use it all the time.
So it seems unfair that a company can make itself hard to search just by changing its name.
Online services like getbizzy.info and creditgate.com find it tecnically easy to collate documents about different companies names, so I think the ministry of justice and its contractor should be able to do it and for less than £8, let alone £8 a company name.
