The idea
The Energy Performance Certificate required for a house to be let up should be removed
Why is it important?
The Energy Performance Certificate is adding an extra cost of about £50 every time a house or flat is let out to a new tenant. This certificate has NO affect on the way the tenant selects a place to live. They even count the energy saving light bulbs when this certificate is done which could be replace as soon as the certificate is obtained. Also if they want to save energy, what about the energy involved in the inspector being trained, driving to the house, printing the report etc..
