The idea
Offering free health assessments for night workers is a legal obligation. Night work is not intrinsically any more hazardous than day work. As an occupational health professional I cannot legally undertake health screening for any hazardous night work work. Therefore under the Data Protection Act it is illegal to process confidential health information without a purpose. These spurious and illegal "health assessments" are a waste of HR and occupational health time and employers' money.
Why is it important?
To cut red tape for employers.
